A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Well, not a GS Sighting, but I feel an honorable mention.

I was mowing the grass last night and I have to move my GS out to get to the mower. This guy came aroung the corner on an old vintage BMW. I've never seen one this old. It had the single harley type seat on it (like the ones in WWII).

I tried to get him to stop, but he just waved and kept going.

I've never seen a beemer that old before. Anyone have any idea what model? All I can say is if not for the BMW on the side and the unmistakeable engine, I would have sworn is one of those Steve Mcqueen harley's.

Went to a place here in Burlington called metric motorsports to get some new ngk plugs and happened to look into the shop and saw a very pretty red 1979 GS850G sitting in there. I asked the guy standing in the shop if it was his and he said "yes, he had just picked it up" so told him about this site. Might just have another new member showing up.

"Carded" a 400 and a "Can 'o Tuna" the other day.

Gave a card to a guy at my buddy's motorcycle shop who brought in a set of 850 carbs for rebuilding. 8)

Bumped into a young kid down in Lunenburg today. I had pulled behind him at the gas station. He has only been riding a couple of months and had a nice shiny red 500GS. Pretty bike!!!!!!! I told him about our site and mantioned he may learn a lot from us old folks!! I'm pretty sure we'll see him soon!!

His girlfriend (?) was riding on the back. She is a nervous passenger as her brothers gave her quite a scare on bikes when she was young. I encouraged to take the Gearing Up course (our rider safety course in Canada) as her boyfriend said he had. I suggested that by learning to ride she would 1. be a calmer passenger and 2. will undoubtably want her own GS!!!!!!!

saw a blue mid 80 gs450 ride past the house and today on the way to work a mid 80 silver gs 450 with fairing and saddle bags heading to san diego today for the rest of the week hope to see some there. have a good day to everyone

GS Sightings

There's a 750 in metallic blue-grey just appeared near my work, good condition but needs a tailpiece. He used to have a Honda VF400,so looks like he's wised up and got a proper bike! :D

I spotted an old Katana yesterday! That's the bike I'm planning on buying next! :D

I saw a matte black 80 GS550 yesterday and chased em down the road... Caught up with him about ten miles down the road and had a quick conversation with him and then jetted back home.

Last night I was chased by this nut riding a newer gs. He followed me all the way out to oswego... I pulled off the road and he followed me into a parking lot...

it was a blue and white 83 gs550, shortly thereafter I burned my way home... weirded out entirely to much.

Only to be passed by the same guy at the intersection of Illinois and Rt31 in aurora...

*confused...*

I've recently seen an older 79'ish GS and an 83 GS in my garage at my house...

*also confused*

Saw a pair of old Suzi's Sunday. A white GT550 screamed by the racetrack I was at, and later an 82-83 1100E screamed by at top throttle.

That road is closed to thru traffic due to construction on a bridge. About 4 miles of recently paved straight road with no traffic... is draws bikes like a magnet.

Just back from a long weekend in Paris (France not Texas!).Didn't see a single GS :P ,but saw a few Van-Vans(!),Bandits,GNs of various capacities,Gixers (GSXRs) and a single, solitary GSXF750 Teapot.(British humour,we called the GT750 the Kettle,so because of the strange(ish) fairing the GSXF became....) Plenty of modern Triumphs, one GORGEOUS original Trident :D :D ,a good few V-Maxes,and literally thousands of scooters from 50cc to the big 500cc jobs.It seems that everybody and their dog rides two wheels, and the car pilots are very aware of them. 8) In general the Parisians drive 'em like they stole 'em,don't wear leathers or gloves and park where they want! 8O 8O Fun looking, but I don't fancy joining in! 8O 8O
Sorry,no pics,fergot the camera! #-o #-o

We have 3... count em 3 81 and below GSs at my place of employment.. yup 3 old school bikes... makes me all warm inside.

Yes, that was me, Buzz! :D :D :D Just on the last stages of a blast up Lefthand Canyon, along the Peak-to-Peak, and down the St. Vrain Canyon to Lyons. I felt the need....the need for speed.....to blast out the mental cobwebs before getting down to some more weekend work. I had wondered if that was you on the 850G, but wasn't sure when I saw you in my mirror turn down towards Boulder as well.....I thought you lived in Longmont.

Simon

Saw what must have been about an '82 1100G and an 1000 Kat sitting in a bike shop in San Antonio. The 1100 had just been sold and the Kat was looking for a home at $3000. There was also a nice '86 GSXR1100 with '89 wheels on it for $3500. Might have to check back on the Gixxer. They both need a little TLC but worth the effort.

Simon-I had just zipped up to Trailridge Rd. for some high altitude vistas-I usually go down 36 to Nelson Rd then home (off Nelson)
