Did anybody / company ever market a spin-on oil filter conversion kit or adapter for the GS range?

This thought has come up before, but the oil system on the 8-valve GS engines with roller bearing cranks operates with very little pressure. There simply aren't any spin-on filters that will work with low pressure oiling.

On other GS models (16V engines that use plain bearings and high-pressure oil) I've seen an arrangement that plumbed an oilfilter in line with an oil cooler. No idea how well it worked, and on some 16V models oil flow to the head is already somewhat marginal -- introducing another restriction in the form of an external filter and plumbing might not be the greatest idea.

The stock filter works fine. Changing it will become much easier with a little experience and when you replace the studs for youroil filter cover. They're 6mm X 1.0 pitch. Order new studs and nuts from Suzuki. Or you can find M6 studs that are a bit longer many other places and use open nuts.
1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
2002 DL1000 V-Strom, Dark Metallic Space Blue.
2005 KLR685 - Turd II.2, the ReReTurdening

Found this using the search function.

Yes, the low pressure problem had occurred to me, but spin-on conversions for XS650s are around and have been for years, so filter solutions for roller-bearing engines do exist. I came across a mooted design from a German poster on teh GSTwins site, but while the filter cover plate looks identical to the GS850, and the design of the adapter is exactly what I envisaged, the later GS twins used plain bearings and high pressure. At any rate, there was no follow-up, so perhaps it didn't work too well.
Which is why I raised the query - if anyone has actually made a reliable one, it would be good to know and perhaps track one down.
My acquisiton of the XJ900 raised the easy adaptation of that to spin-on, using another model's conversion plate from the factory, plenty of which were sold and are now in breakers' yards. This prompted the speculation of a similar easy route for the GS.
