    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

GS1000 carb fuel joints and tee info needed

I was wondering if anyone knew where i can get the fuel joints and tee for my Vm26 carbs as mine leak horribly. Can't even sync carbs they leak so bad. The part # from Mikuni is vm26/268 and vm26/269 . I thought they had O rings on them but it is all one rubber piece. I have tried a few web pages (hours) but came up with nothing. I thought bike bandit might have them but they are discontinued there as well. If anyone can help please let me know.:confused:

I too am dealing with the same leaking issue on my VM carbs. Here is an idea that I dug up in a search. It might be worth a try.

That's definitely an "add to favorites site". Spendy but when you need them.............

There is more information about how to modify your tees to accept o-rings as stated above on the site. I've heard of others using thread tape with some success as well.

Mine always leak a little after I take the carbs apart. But then they must swell or something because after a few days the leak goes away.
 
Thanks guys ! You all are great. I would have never thought of cutting out the "would be O rings" then adding them. I made to sure to add the motorcyclecarbparts.com to my GS file in my bookmarks in case that doesn't work. Can't wait to dissassemble my carbs for the 1000th time. :-D Sure am getting good at it.

I used the PTFE tape plus o-ring solution that I found on this site. I found a special yellow tape that states it is good for fuel immersion. About 3 layers was just right. Twist the carb onto the pipe in the same direction you wound the tape.The o-rings don't go into the carb body but just get squashed between the face of the body and the t-piece. You'll end up with a somewhat wobbly assembly of 4 carbs that you can then attach to the main mounting rail. All leak free so far...
