A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Got lost in all the search threads on this... Doesn't seem to be a definite answer anywhere!

Anyone found an alternative to a stock petcock that fits with all stock components?

The only definite answer I could find was one from Chuck on 78/79 GS750 Petcock's which fit if you extend the lines.

Mine is suspect. Carb 3 overflows a little & then if I let it sit (I haven't ridden it in a month :( ) it will do the same thing again a few days later.

Might just have some junk in it as it was new (Suzuki OEM) in 2008.

:)

So did everyone else by the looks of it then... Hopefully mine has just got some crud in it somewhere or a tear in an O ring or something!

Those are the only direct replacement petcocks I know of Dan. And they are like 1/3 the cost of a 1000 petcock..which is a good thing.

I have a 78 gs 1000 e and need a petcock .. and yeah here its like $250 for a newone .. so what your saying here is I can order the 78 petcock for a750 and its basikly the same , but almost half the cost ??

Yes that exactly correct. 77 /78 750 petcock is the same thing. The ONLY difference between the two is the way the nipples come off the back. Youll need new lines that are about 2 inches longer than the old ones so you can reach them. Other than that theres no "special " routing needed. Its a plug and play deal.

This doesnt apply to the 80 or above though because the tank bolt spacing on them is 50MM...not 44MM.
