I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi,

I am just sorting out my GS1000g, first job was put some higher bars on it. Looks much nicer now and more comfortable. When I took off the left switch gear I noticed that the white and orange wires had been cut, everything seemed to work ok though, what could that be, from looking at the wiring diagram it seems to be the self cancel on the indicators. Maybe this is a good modification? not sure. Any ideas

Cheers

Dave

Solid white and solid orange or white wires with orange stripes?

Either way, none of them would be anywhere near the left switch gear. :-k

The only solid white wire is for the brakes, but that is on the right side.

The only solid orange is from the ignition switch to the fuse box, it only runs down the middle, not to either side.

As far as I know, there is no white wire with orange stripes, but there are wires that are orange with white stripes.
Those are ignition wires and again, are on the right side, not the left.

Ok, I will have to recheck the colour of the wires, they are only short so I may have got the colours wrong (pretty sure the switch gear is from a GS, it looks like this and there are also orange cables - http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Suzuki-GS100...099802?hash=item51ef2db01a:g:xFkAAOSw5cNYKaOB). A more pressing problem now is why the bike wont start with a new battery. It worked fine when I bought it. Engine keeps turning over but just failing to catch, sounds like fuel starvation to me, but what's the probability of 4 carbs not working, that cant be it, I also took the bolt off the bottom of one of the carbs and fuel came out, there must be enough in them. I am hoping a spark plug change will do the job, it needs a new set anyway.

4 new sparkplugs and it starts but is not running well, I look down and petrol is ****ing out of the carbs, looks like a carb clean and new needle values!
