Im searching in vain for a new pet cock/ fuel tap for my GS. Everywhere I look seems to be 50mm hole spacing and mine is 44mm Also a lot of them come without the tap which is no good to me as my original tap has the flange attached that takes the o ring. Anyone know a good supplier? tried Z1 but don't seem to list it for my bike?

Heres the list that part number was used on.This is for the 79 Cooleys.

1979 SUZUKI GS1000N & EN - FUEL COCK - FUEL GAUGE
1979 SUZUKI GS1000SN - FUEL TANK
1979 SUZUKI GS425EN - FUEL COCK
1979 SUZUKI GS425LN - FUEL COCK
1979 SUZUKI GS425N - FUEL COCK

OEM part straight from Suzuki.

Part# 44300-44011, Desc COCK ASSY, FUEL

Quite expensive. There are a good many online sources or you can try hitting up your local dealership.

Some people have reported that the early 750 petcock, that is much cheaper, also fits although the petcock nipples come out at different angles than the 1000 petcock. Please do some research by searching the archives on this subject before ordering though to confirm.

1980 SUZUKI GS1000GLT - FUEL TANK (MODEL T)
1980 SUZUKI GS1000ST - FUEL COCK
1980 SUZUKI GS1100ET - FUEL COCK
1980 SUZUKI GS1100LT - FUEL TANK
1980 SUZUKI GS550LT - FUEL TANK

1980 SUZUKI GS750LT - FUEL TANK (GS750LT)
1981 SUZUKI GS750EX - FUEL COCK

Different parts fische seem to show different numbers which don't tie in to ones Ive seen advertised. Im beginning to wonder if the hole spacing is wrong. I measured the spacing on the tap and not the tank. Although its possible that someone has elongated the holes in the tap to get them to fit the tank. Ill go measure the tank hole spacing instead to verify this

The part number I get is 44300-47270 which is the listing for 1980 GS1000S

Alpha sports lists that P/N as fitting '79 model year.

Is the fishe incorrect for that application?

No I think the fische is correct for my bike, its just another parts fische I was using had a different number

I will check the bolt spacing on my 79 Cooley tomorrow. If its the 44MM spacing then yes the 77/78 750 petcock will be an exact bolt up and cosmetically the same. I will report back tomorrow for sure.

Just compared the bolt spacing between my 1979 GS1000S and my 1977 GS750..both are 44MM spacing,, so the much cheaper 77/78 750 petcock will be a direct bolt up. Like i have said before, its cosmetically the exact same petcock except the nipples face different directions. Youll need a little longer fuel and vacuum line but thats it. I also suggest you get the bolt gaskets too. See the parts fiche. They seal the bolt head to the petcock flange to stop fuel leaking down the threads.

Been looking at this one on ebay 201107240359 its 44mm spacing so should fit. I know the vacuum inlet is facing the wrong way but is this an issue then? Why not a longer bit of hose rerouted under the tank as I think Ive seen in anither thread?

Sorry, missed a previous post that answered this :-) ill just look for the correct sealing washers now as they prob wont come with the tap.
