Hi Guys,
I purchased a Gs1000st a couple of months back ,here in Perth Australia.
It also has the double clutch plates and all the other Aussie S parts, 29mm carbs, normal clocks but with S fairing etc

Its Engine is 152467 and frame 535124 with the ADR compliance plate stamped 3/81.
Kiwi Canuk I'd be interested to see where it fits in your register :)

Cheers Robonz

Rob, thanks for posting your numbers, I have added them to the registry.

Looks like your bike is from one of the last batches produced, I only have 3 higher VIN's than yours and the highest I have so far is 53232.

David

Apart from the seller labelled it a SN not a ST mine must have been on the same ship.......

Sharpy, any chance you could send me your VIN for the register, should be 5351XX or there abouts based on your engine number.

My Vin has 6 numbers ,did you miss a number with 53232 ?:)
How many S models do you have on your list now and is it available to see as it be great to see how many around Perth Australia?
Cheers
Rob

Opps yes I did miss a digit, the high number is 535232

I have about 100 VIN's between the 79's & '80s

Some of the entries in my registry do not have the specific location of the bike other than the state or province/country, but I do have quite a few entries from Australia, maybe 30 total and about 6 or 7 are from Perth.

I have not published the list as I do not wish to make it public without the members permission.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the numbers Thsel, can you tell me where you are located so I can add that info to the Registry please.

At this time I don't have enough numbers to be able to determine the distribution of bikes by country, but based on the 1980 model it looks like Australia and USA took the majority of them as I have very few other countries on my list. (a couple in NZ and a few in the UK & Europe)

I had heard that in 1979 about 750-1,000 went to the USA, one per dealer was the rumor, not sure about 1980 though.

Hope this info helps.

Cheers,

David.

image.jpgHi, after working on my clutch, I have found the inner hub for the ST is longer than an ordinary GS, if you remove double plate there won't be enough "stack" for it to work properly, adding 2 more plates will not work either and I would not try that direction.
cheers

Eng # 150197. What should that belong too as it has ST rear sets, thanks

That engine number is from a 1980 ST, that number is right between an ST from Australia with 149997 and 150509 from NZ.

Do you have any frame numbers you can forward on to me, as I have 2 engine numbers from you but no VIN's to go with them?

Cheers,

David

I see this was a year ago but any chance you can measure either hubs ? My ST has a really hard level action, I have the double plate but not sure which hub is fitted
Cheers
