As some of you may have seen i just came across a old gsxr that has had a gs motor swapped into it. When i got it the starter was about done4. Well i got a new starter yesterday, got it put in and have been putting some miles on it. Today i went for a little ride over to a buddy's house and when i went to leave i hit the button and nothing the starter spun but not the motor:mad: so i bump started it and got back home, removed the cover and found the big nut on the end of the crank loose again. Everything had worked loose so i pulled it all off and found the tapered part of the rotor kinda messed up and 2 of the little springs broke and one of the little buckets cracked in two. The tapered part of the crank has some marks on it but i think it will be ok but i would like to replace the rotor and I'm going to need some parts for the starter clutch. So is there any other rotor and starter clutch assembly that is the same or am i stuck looking for just 1100 parts here??

Thanks
Ben

Re: gs1100E starter clutch/rotor

Hi,

I have a good rotor and starter clutch from an 82 GS1100e in excellent condition if you are looking for one. You can have it for 50.00 shipped.

Some 82 and all 83 1100 motors have a big end crank. The gear that spins on the crank has a different ID than the 80-81 1100s. The OD is the same so all year clutches will work.

Huh?

Why are there two diff part#'s under 82/83 starter clutches?

The inner part of the clutch with the dowels and springs are the same. The gears are different.

it has a Falicon crank in it if that makes a difference. So i take it that nothing off a 7 or 850 is interchangeable

what is the OD of each
