A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello everyone, I finally got my hands on a gs1100, My bro in law had one many yrs ago and I loved it. Seen this thing on craigslist for CHEAP cuz owner was frustrated with it. Its the cruiser type with the short ape hanger lookin handle bars, I want the sporty body so thought I would buy this 84 1150e chassis and switch...don't laugh I knew it was a different beast as soon as I looked at it but bought it anyway :) so my question is will the rear cowl and seat fit the one I have if it is off a different body style?...I like the 1150e body type but am unsure of the name or # designation I am looking for...the square rear cowl??? Sorry if this should b in another tread, nice to meet everyone and thanks for the response in advance

None of the parts will bolt on between the different models but that doesn't mean you can't fab up a conversion of some sort.

Oh, and welcome!:)

So the body that looks like the blue and white 1980 gs1000 u have pics of will not fit even if same yr and motor size??

The frame is different...it's deeper than the bodywork. If you want a standard what you should do is clean up your L and get it running good...then sell it and buy what you want, or trade it for what you want.

Hmmm...well thats an idea! Trading for the right one. So I guess the 84 1150e chassis will b for sale then...Thanks for the info!!! That helps a lot, I can move forward with paint now that I'm not gonna b able to change body...Know anyone that wants a gs1100 shaft drive cruiser?? :-k U say the cruiser type is a gs1100 (L)??? Is there an RS?

I've been dying to do this to my 850G as well. I love the looks of the 1100E's, but don't want the chain headaches. Maybe someday I'll do it...
