If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Looking for used or aftermarket mufflers for 1984 GS1100GK. Headers are fine but mufflers are rotten.Cheapest possible as bike has high mileage so don't want to invest too much. Located in Ontario

Yes, there have been some posts here about getting free Harley mufflers from dealers. Most Harley buyers add aftermarket pipes and many leave the stock exhausts at the dealer. I can't remember who posted it but one person said the dealer pointed him to a huge pile and said 'Help yourself'.

I think that was Planecrazy Steve, Joe. And it was when I was looking for a replacement for my ejected muffler. I also had a HD owner at my PT job offer me his stock pipes.

You might have to get creative (i.e. adapting the Harley Muffler route). I searched high and low for an aftermarket exhaust when I bought my GK and I am convinced nobody makes one. They are very hard to come by at the junk yards too....I really wanted to keep mine stock so I finally bit the bullet and ordered a new one from bike bandit (it was big $$$, fortunately I only needed the right side). If you (or any GSer) ever comes across a company that makes an aftermarket exhaust for the GK PLEASE let us know :!:

thanks for your help guys. Sounds like I'm going to have some trouble finding what I need. I hate to buy expensive, new exhaust on a bike that has 98K on it, who knows how much longer life the motor has in it, even though they say that the GS motors are bulletproof. . . .we'll see

how far are you from montreal?

i have a 4:1 kerker that may or may not fit your bike.
its brand new, but ill let you have it for cheap if it fits.
its originally for an aircooled gsxr750, and i got it for my 1100 but im installing a supertrapp instead so i won't be needing it.

my supertrapp will require some adapting, and im sure the kerker will as well, as far as i can tell it's just widening the holes on the mounting flanges so the bolts line up.

if you pm me your email, i can send you some pictures. if you can bring the bike to me, we can try the pipe on to see if it fits.

just an idea, you'd have a brand new exhaust (installed) for cheap.
i dont think you'd even have to rejet much, it's a freer flowing pipe than stock but its designed for a smaller engine.
i had done a similar mod on my 750 and i didnt need rejetting...

The GK pipes and E model pipes aren't interchangable. The bends are all at wrong angles and places as the GK has a different frame and engine mounting. I know becasue I once bought GK pipes for my E model.

yeah, i got surprised with that myself when i gave my stock 1100e exhaust to someone for his 1150. lucky, someone told me about while the guy was in transit from ottawa and i was able to spwap exhausts with my buddy. the lister drove back to ottawa with 2 1150 exhausts.
but i wasnt offering my 1100 exhaust, as i suspect its somewhat clogged.
do you know if the kerker 4:1 for the gsxr750 will fit?

im also wondering. if the header is good, you could just have a muffler shop bend pipes to replace teh rotten bits and adapt any muffler of your choosing...

Ron, you might PM "focus frenzy" (Leon). He and I were discussing this a couple of weeks ago but I honestly don't remember the company name he gave me. Probably not cheap though.
