DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hey Guys, im new to this GS world and especially new to Carbed bikes.
I just picked up an old 1986 GS750ES and i plan on having some fun with it but first i want to get it running properly.
My first step was to completely strip and redo the Carbs since this bike was sitting for quite a while and i couldn't hear it run when i bought it- once i finally got all the grime and dirt off i found out they were 1986 GS1150 carbs. The bike currently runs pods and has a drilled stock exhaust but as far as the internals i can't be sure if its stock or not- Will this bike run with those carbs?
I need to replace the Intake boots but i'm not sure if i should get the GS750 ones or the GS1150 ones- nobody seems to have any measurements?
Any info would definitely be appreciated.
Thanks

The stock carbs are 32's and the 1150 carbs are 36's. A big jump. I'm sure you could make the bike run with them but I'm not sure how well.

I completely agree, I'm also wondering if one of the previous owners decided to do the big bore kit would this require such a drastic change in carbs??
