DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

hi all!
ok i am ending this.project. i need some advices on main jets choice:
velocity stacks
bandit header with open exhaust
ported head
bs32 carbs with mixture screws at 2 turns.

currently i have 165 mains with the needle at the last notch (the richest). i have no bogs at all and the bike rides smooth. but when i do wot starting at 2000 rpm or lower the bike accelerates but i can feel some bogs as the bike is too lean even the bike do not sputter at all. the bike really start screaming past 4000 rpm. i have 170 mains, do you think that i can put them and go one notch up?

at wot the porcelain of the plugs is a bit.white and the electrode is grey / brown.
moreover i put wot and, if i decrease a bit the bike seems to accelerate more.. what do you think about? thanks a lot!!

Typically if closing the throttle at high rpms actually makes the bike pull harder that is a good indication that the main jet is to small. When you close the throttle slightly you are reducing the amount of air entering the intake but momentarily the same amount of fuel is entering the intake, thus the mixture is richened for a brief second and if the bike pulls harder - your mixture is to lean. Try the 170 mains. If the bike pulls hard in the mid range (4000-6500) dont bother adjusting the needle jet until the main jet is correctly selected.

ok thanks. yes i find it a bit lean but I was affraid going directly to 170 would go too far

It might be, 167.5 would be ideal but hey if you already have them then all you have to lose is time.
