DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

straight bolt on? i want to go from this:

to this:

prolly a stupid question, but does it bolt straight up or will i need the headlight/faring mount brackets? i want this so i dont have to buy side covers and everything else ill need to get the fairings back on my es

this comment is coming from a person that knows nothing about these what so ever. this is just what i see in the pictures. If you look at the bottom of the top faring it looks as if there is 2 bolts to hold it on on each side. and something just under the headlight looks like another bolt hole. As for the bottom one there is only one hole on the bottom. the looks are different, Short on top long on bottom and oposite for the bottom faring. i think there might be some fabrication work needed to make it fit but i believe that it is due able. Good Luck

I am presently building up a 84 550ES/E for the girlfriend, and I can tell you that the 2 fairings can be interchanged, but its a little more involved than a straight bolt on. The first fairing you posted from the ES has a stationary headlight with a cage that attaches to the frame of the bike. The second fairing is from a E model, not a EF. The E fairing attaches to the forks only and the headlight turns with them. So you will also need at a bare minimum, different headlight brackets, windshield, horn bracket and the assorted mounting hardware. All in all I think it might be easier to find your missing side panels for your ES fairings.

On a side note, I just picked up a set of ES fairings on ebay complete with mounting cage, headlight, windshield and blinkers for 75 bucks. They were in really quite good condition when I got them, so they are available if you want to camp out on ebay for a while.
