I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi guys,

Is there any reason that the 550L tank wouldn?t fit a 450E?
The frame seem to be the same.
Does anyone know the fuel capacity of the 550L tank?
Were there any difference between 1981 and 1985?

Thanks mates

JF

I know an L tank has more of a gentle slope by the seat. If it will fit, it might not look right. The L seats are different too. They might not fit on your frame.

Sorry, I was not clear here.
I have made a custom seat, so it doesn?t matter if it looks strange with stock seat. The fitting on the frame and hopefully the mounting brackets is what counts. It is the slimmer and drop look I am after.

I doubt the rear mounts are the same but this is just a guess based on past experience.

I checked the partsfiches at http://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-gs550-l-1981-1982-usa_model16034/partslist/93333.html and also the 1986 models.

The 1981-82 seems to have the same frame so even if the brackets seem different, it should fit and I just have to make another bracket.
The 1986 model have a totally different frame so there is a no-go.

I want another tank on my GS450E. Fit for a caf? racer, maybe not my bobber.
Do you know of either a wider/fatter or drop shaped tank that might fit?
Look at this beauty and agree that FAT is beautiful.

I put a 650E tank on my 450 and the front mounts are identical. The rear are nowhere near though.....

Hope this helps :)

I have to check that. The 550/500/650 tank might suit my needs as well.
Bought some tracker drag bars today.
Low and fat will me my song from now on.
