    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

GS650G brakes will not pump up...

I cant seem to get the rear brakes to pump up. i have vacuum the system and still will not pump up. i remove the banjo bolt from the rear caliper and when i pump the brakes i can feel it suck on my finger but does not have firm pressure pushing my finger away to release the fluid.

Do you have any suggestions. i rebuilt the unit and it was not even getting the fluid past the most front cap/seal.. i put the original ones back in and it allows the fluid to come out but there is no strong pressure.

please let me what you think.. thanks.
 
Master cylinder must be dirty, or assembled incorrectly.
 
the M/C is clean inside and out. both the new and old sets of seals and springs are in great shape.

i have looked at the Microfishe files and it shows the spring with the main shaft. but does not have the rubber cap/seal shown.

tomorrow i will will remove the M/C from the bike again and remove that seal and see how it works.

the cylinder and smooth as a babies butt. there are no hang up.

I have rebuilt plenty of these things before but this thing has me stumped. I dont know what could be causing it to not have the build-up of pressure.

if you or anyone have any suggestions beside clean the cylinder and make sure its installed correctly please let me know. this thing is clean enough to eat out and off of. and its being rebuilt correctly.

Additionally i will try and remove bleeder valve and fill with brake fluid and see if i can get some movement from the calipers. but inorder for these things to move there needs to be adequate pressure. Hope to get this figured out soon.

UPDATE:

Well Nissim was correct, i had infact incorrectly had it installed. i went with how it dis-assembled. this goes to show that attention to details is very important.

that being said.. i have brakes on this bike all around and they are working.. now just a matter of getting the carbs back from Chef and get the carbs sync'ed to the motor and take it for a spin and see how she acts.
