A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

...update. Fingers still crossed.
She has fired right up a couple more times now.
I am 100% sure that the dirty pilot jets were the root of the issue. Those metal plugs just seemed to shout ?beware, do not enter?, so I never messed with them. But, in the whole process of working on this bike, I have learned sooo much about how they work! I am sure it will always be a WIP!
I can just imagine how nice it would have been to have gotten that last jet replaced!

That lingering thought...woulda/coulda/shoulda...

You know, if you research on here (GSR), you'll know there's members here who could rebuild those carbs for 1/3 the price you mentioned--just a thought.

Enjoy your time riding and I'll remind you again, when you get a photo hosting site set up (depending on whether you want free or paid site), post your "T" here: https://www.thegsresources.com/_for...-2nd-Thread)-3rd-Overall-(I-think)&highlight=

Maybe the metal plugs were some kind of previous workaround and maybe they weren't sealing effectively.

I looked briefly through this thread and did not see which carb you need.

I have some spares, will have to see if any of them would work for your bike, but need to know which carb.

I won't be home until Sunday night, so don't expect an answer before then.

Looks like you need to post pic of the carbs...and identify the carb you need...and then contact Steve.

I had my bike's carbs rebuilt by Steve...and they came out immaculate!

Good luck with everything!

As I sit on my bike, my ?bad carb? is the first one on my left side.
Even though the bike is somehow starting and running decent (after a little warm up), I think if I could get that carb fixed or replaced, it would be so much better.

As I sit on my bike, my “bad carb” is the first one on my left side. ...
That would be the #1 carb.

Everything on a vehicle is referenced left to right or front to back as if you are in position, ready to drive or ride.
That means that #1 is under your clutch hand, #4 is under your throttle hand.
The front of the carbs are up against the engine, the back of the carbs are sucking air from the filter.

I will check tomorrow evening to see if I have a #1 carb that will work for you.

Nice looking “T”. Don’t forget to post pic on the “T” thread previously mentioned.

Quick question, why is your fuel tube sticking out the left side? That could get caught on something and cause trouble.

Hi Mr Steve. Just checking to see if you happened to have a #1 carb for an 82 GS750T. Would that be a BS32SS? Where would I find the carb size?

Thanks Ed.
The more I tune (aka tinker :)), I have noticed that when I really takeoff, at about 4K rpm it kind of sputters. It?s not a real huge loss of power like a bog, but more like sputter. If I let off the gas at that point it seems to be running normal.
Does this mean that I have a lean condition at mid-range or is it rich?
If it is either one, would I need to move the jet needle clip up or down to fix that sputter?

Good morning!

I’m fixin’ to go to the beach early today and surf.

Someone more knowledge will be along to answer your question...hopefully.

Enjoy your Sunday...and thanks for posting on “T-Nation” thread.

Did you do your research on that link provided by Rich?

Here's my beach pic from today!
