A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello, just working through my carb overhaul using the guide listed on this forum, great guide very helpful. Inspected my diaphragms and have noticed one or two very small pin holes in 3 of the four diaphragms. Had to hold the diaphragms up to a light to find them. I thought whilst I have the carbs apart that I would replace the diaphragms. Searched for a supplier here in Aus, only to be shocked to see that the replacements (including sliders) are $200 Aus each, obviously if I was to replace the entire 4 it would equate to $800 Aus dollars.

Whilst searching for other suppliers I stumbled across this http://www.motorradbay.de/dateien/librane.pdf

This is a diaphragm replacement system where you replace with a "Librane", basically you remove the top plastic rim from the existing diaphragm, remove the old nitrile rubber diaphragm and then glue on the new.

This system works out around $45 Aus dollars per diaphragm.

Has anyone used this system? Feed back on performance? Ease of install?

JBM also does a similar system, but you have to be sure whether he has the right ones by carefully measuring yours and ordering correctly. No refunds if you get it wrong, and try to fit them anyway. Saying that, many Jap bikes use diaphragms from a common range of sizes, so you'll probably find yours in there.

JBM supply diaphragms for microlite engines where reliability is arguably more important, so they have to be fairly sure they're selling good quality kit, I would think.

That JBM started making these about a year ago for bikes as far as I've seen. I have not heard any reviews.
They are about 45 minutes from my house. Perhaps someday I will swing by there and take a look at their place and see if they have any info sheets or anything.
Fair price and their descriptions seem pretty well thought out and in depth.

Just ordered 4 replacement diaphragms from JBM Industries, they took the order and sent me a paypal invoice in the matter of hours, if this is any indication looks like they are a quality supplier, should receive the diaphragms in a week or so here in Australia, will post thoughts on the replacement units once received.
Thanks for the heads up on JBM, much appreciated.

Hi looking at these for my '81 GS850G. How did it work out for you?

Did you get the M70 pieces they have listed for BS32SS carbs? I guess the Aussie bikes have same carbs as Yank ones but who knows.

Lemmee know if you see the, Oct 2018 here in states.
