    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hello to the forum.I live inCornwall, UK and my 79 GS is nekkid like God intended. I am enjoying bugs in my teeth, who doesn't? But if i'm going to Scotland in the "summer" i'm going to need some sorta wind/midgie shield. I'm not looking for a windjammer dressing gown, more a skimpy bikini that'll look a bit military/baddass. What have you guys done to make your eye sockets from vibrating???? Show and tell time...
 
Nothing small will keep the wind out of your eyes.
A S fairing makes the wind hit you in the chest

A better helmet, as above, is your best solution
 
Always rode and still riding with a Jet Helmet plus a Faceshield&Earplugs, Summer and Winter.

Well, ok, come Summer sunglasses get added and the faceshield stays mostly up. Yep, no highway riding, place where I live is way too beautiful IMO :P

But I've been meaning to upgrade the helmet and maybe switch over to ski goggles (or similar style) for those situations that call for it.

Though, it's only a few times I've maxed out my engine for a few minutes on a late, late-morning commute, and then the instrument cluster provided me with just enough protection when hugging the tank.
 
Three words - full faced helmet. Not only keeps my head in one piece if something bad happens but it keeps the bugs out of my teeth. Besides, those things hurt at like the dickens at any speed

apart from a helmet, The Answer is a taller windshield. See BigT's post. When you deflect air it has to go somewhere. The flow BigT mentions is actually stronger than without a fairing..can have eddies too that slap at you. A taller ((and not too narrow)windshield that you can just peak over will shoot the air and bugs overhead and behind.

The classic American Police Bike with its tall wide windshield and policeman (just) wearing sunglasses has a strong basis in fact and practicality.

Or, get some very low bars and tuck in behind a shorter one.
