I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi All

I am posting this on behalf of my brother who has a Custom trike which has an GS850GT engine fitted..

Its having terrible running problems, he had some one come and look at the bike and the boots were leaking so he ordered new boots based on the engine number and when they came the inlet was too big for the carbs, he has since ordered other boots and they fit much better so he is starting to wonder if it has the wrong carbs on it (would carbs from a different GS still work?). He has had it running fine on tick over but he took it out today and it was terrible, it sounds like its over fueling or too much air rather than not enough (its spluttering rather than cutting out).

I have posted a few pics below and i have a video which i will try and get on here of it ticking over.

Any help would be appreciated, because its driving him nuts

Thanks

Somebody has adapted Kawasaki slide carbs to the bike

Is there a pumper hanging down on the #2 carb float bowl?

I've never heard of ordering by engine number

That is an 80' engine and should have CV Carbs. Ditch the VM's, they ain't ever gonna' fit right ever (unless you change the head to a 79', which I have if you need one)

Did the bike run well before?

What has been done other than new carbs boots?

Hi all thanks for comments so far!

No the bike has Never run right i can get it to tick over nicely and move off lovely but wind her up and she splutters, but if you give her full throtle she goes like stink!! So its just mid range she doesnt like?!?

All the carbs have been cleaned and look in good condition only thing i havent done is new jets and test the is a vacuum pipe on carb 2 any ideas????

Many thanks guys
