I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi everyone.I own an 82 GS550M Katana and i have seen 2-3 coil has weak spark, most of it on nr3,so i think its time to replace it.I have found a pair of coils from GSXR750W but i dont know if they are the same ohms. For fitmment matter i dont care,i can fix it,the most important is if they will work on my Kat.
Thanks in advance and please just dont answer ''buy new ones''

Did you swap coil position around and see if weak spark issue moves to 1 and 4 plugs?? Ignition coils are very durable...wiring and ignitor issues are common.

No Tom,i didn't check this way,but will do it tommorow, thanks.
There are times that works well, accelerate well etc,but usually misfires cant accelerate clearly and also when cold and start nr3 exhaust remains cold, but after a while works well.I thought its a coil problem ,i will check your way. In case that with nr 1/4 coil does works well, these coils from GSXR fits my Kat?

You need to check the ohms and compare the specs. Some newer coils are lower ohms than the old stuff. Using them without ballast resistor correction can damage your ignitor.

Another thing to do is check voltage at the coil and resistance of the plug caps. They screw on and off the wires. The wires themselves can be changed too although it's a bit of work.

As you sit on bike,#3 cylinder is third from left?? Plug caps get corroded and cause misfiring - they are cheap to replace and eliminate as an issue.

Yes Tom,as i sit it's the third from left.I forgot to mention that 3rd spark plug is always black and wet, compare the other three.
I will check plug caps,if neccessary i will change nr3 and i will let you know.

I did check once and i remember that 2-3 wasn't ok,but will check again and will imform you.
