    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I was questioning my self about what would be best Clip-ons or clubman handlebars ?

what are the cons and pro for each one?
 
I was thinking of clubmans for a good while, but went for drag bars, and Im really happy with them
 
I wanted Clip Ons but I realized that for my bike, '82 GS1100EZ, the Clip Ons would not work because of the headlight mount bracket, in order to install the Clip Ons I would need to manufacture a new headlight bracket which I had no desire to do so I am now using the Clubman bars and am perfectly happy with the choice.

Besides the Clubmans are much easier to change if I decide to go with something different or go back to an original look.

...They didn't fit the proper way like I had hoped due to hitting the nut on the top of the forks :mad:. However I was able to invert them and still use them. I thought they looked pretty good, liked the way it framed the stock gauges. If you don't like this look make sure it'll clear that fork bolt. Or invest in slightly taller bar risers.

Clubmans didn't work for me, because, as Tim Tom says, the are designed to put the rider in a permanent tuck, which isn't very comfortable for everyday riding. I use Tarozzi clip-ons, which are adjustable for angle, and come in several configurations. I mounted mine above the triple clamp (slid the forks up an inch or two), and like the riding position better than clubmans or drag bars. The only disadvantage is that they cost $130, whereas clubmans can be had for about $20.
 
My clubmans are quite comfortable when combined with rear sets.
With the stock pegs it's miserable..
I thought about clipons but what do you do with the empty handlebar risers?
 
Here's what I did with the handlebar mount. Might also use that space for the idiot lights. (see my album)
 
I do like my clubmans. For me it is a very natural feel. I am not sure what size the fork tubes are on your bike. But you might be able to use the fork nuts off of an earlier bike which are shorter in height. I had a problem that some one installed an air fork kit on my bike. So my clubmans did not fit, but I got a set of original fork nuts for my 78 GS750 and the clubmans fit perfect. There is about a 1/16" clearance which gives them just the perfect angle.
