    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Saw this in a magizine, so its not original, but it could save your life!

Get a roll of reflective tape and your helmet. Start on one side near the ear area in the center with the tape, a litte ways back from the face. Go all the way around the back with it to the same spot on the other side. From the ends, come out at a 45 top and bottom, making an arrow on each side. Now, when you do a shoulder check in the direction of your lane change, drivers will see an arrow on the side of your helmet telling them which way you are going!

What a great idea! I have also seen guys add LED lights to their helmets.

Thats why Ive always had solid color helmets. It makes it easier to put my turn signals on and not clash with the silly patterns they put on them from the factory.

Reflective tape and other night safety equipment

If you want reflective tape or other items but don't want to mess up the lines of your bike, I just bought some "invisible reflective tape" (that's what they call it anyhow) from Streetglo. It's referred to as invisible reflective motorcycle frame tape. They call it also a Super Bright version and it comes in a kit that you install on your frame (assuming it is black)

I have to admit, it's strange to see totally black gloss tape and imagine it can be white under light. However, the streetglo tape didn't disappoint me. it's not actually a tape roll, but a kit of reflective tape strips that you pull off a waxed paper and apply to your frame.

I have seen black reflective tape before and it is dissapointing when it comes to reflectivity. However, the streetglo super bright black reflective tape does as promised. It's a great way to help protect you at night. I installed this tape at every point on the frame that could be seen by a motorist. The tape is remarkably reflective and there's no mistake about seeing me at night.

On my bike I have the gold and black reflective pinstripe, the gold mega-flames on my helmet, and I have a reflective flame kit on my fenders. I just added the invisible reflective tape and my bike looks like hell when car headlights hit it.. But that's what I want. The whole bike is reflective and in daylight it just looks extremely cool. I get admirers all the time when in a bike line.. But it's dang bright and busy looking at night but only to the motorist that is in the angle to impact you. Others don't see the reflection.

Check them out. I'm `100% happy with everything they have sold me.

I had my frame powdercoated bright orange. That should keep me visable. Bit I might add some tape to my few remaining black parts. Good idea.
 
Those reflective striping kits are pretty cool. I might just have to get one to add a few classy (not to mention safe like) details to my rx-7
