    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What information do you need? I have a book for the '75-'85 GS400-450 models i can scan what you need and email it to you.

hallo again and thank you very much , at least for answering to my help mesage !
the bike that i boght is in a "so and so condition"; i realy need all the information that i can get regarding the engine finest reglation that he can work properly and in parameters that was built for.
in this moment the engine is running ok by my opinion (i am kind of new in motorcycle area althout i have license since '97) but the bike was in a garage from 3 years ago and not running;in this moment i want to make all that is necessary to have a good reliable bike :
i will change all the filters ( oil and air - i do not have their codes to buy the right ones) , the tyres ( i also do not know the biggest that i can put in the rear), change the oil ,carburators wash ( i need their parameters), electrichal - spark in the right moment, new battery etc...
this things , they are comon sense for a bike from my opinion, will costs me allmost a fortune for the money that we are working in romania; in the end i hope will be happy end , of course if you also can help me .
so, if is not to much trouble , if you can scan and send me as much as you can regarding the 1979 gs 400 , you' ll make me a happy biker.

I'm 25 and live in Texas. I ride an '80 GS450S and just bought an '85 GS450A (it has alot of work to be done on it before it can be ridden). I will scan and email the pages from the troubleshooting section and the pages from the maintence section that should get you going. It will be a day or so before I get them to you.
