DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Help Identify This Seat

looks exactly like my 81' GS110E.

Only if your GS1100E has a GS650G seat on it.

Take the seat off your bike, bring it in to where your computer is, and compare it to the pics directly. You'll find the grab bar is different, the 1100E seat is wider at the back, and the 1100E seat is flatter.

Dimensions help a lot. I thought the grab rail looked too small to be 850/1100, so I was hoping he would give dimensions. My friend has a 650G seat, so here are real pics. There should be no doubt.

I would hope he stops the auction and lists it correctly. It is a very nice seat, but completely worthless to a 850/1100 owner. It is EXTREMELY frustrating to go through a purchase and find it is the wrong thing. There is the unneeded packing and shipping, but worst of all is maybe missing the correct seat because of this one. Doing it right the first time is "doing it right".

I think that is the best move. It is a really nice seat, it should bring good money.

Lol, I wonder if it would fit the elusive 650E...

well, i met with gary today, and we compared seats. it's very similar to the 1100g seat. however, the seat lugs in the front are slightly ( about a half inch ) lower than the 1100, and the seat pan in the back doesn't dip as far as the 1100, which seems to dip an additional half inch or so.

it may well be a 650 seat, i suspect it could be fitted to an 1100 if you swapped set lugs.

i am pretty sure the seat cover would easily fit the 1100 sat too.

i'm gonna talk to the boss about buying it for the seat cover :D

My guess is that it will be too small. If you do attempt it, please be careful. My friend with the 650G would want to buy it if it doesn't fit.

Hey BikerG, It would fit perfect on my 82 GS850G...........except for the price.....dam

If you can find a part number, I'll look it up forya.

Since when does a 650 seat fit on a 850?

we compared the seats side to side, with the exception of the two noted difference, they are pound for pound the same. even the same shape. grab bars lined up perfectly, rubber stops were perfect, just his seat doesn't have quite as much of a dip for the rear wheel, and the pins for the front mount are closer to the seat and spaced slightly farther apart.
