A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Bandit 1200 1996-2000 RF900 Triple all years IIRC. Use the Bandit wheels so the speedo works. You need a Gen 1 Bandit speedo cable. It's cool to see all this work getting done and I don't have to lift a finger....
Good info! I’ve been scanning the marketplace for a whole Bandit 1200 for cheap. While I did find some, they are farther out than I’m willing to drive.

Found this website for the conversion parts. That makes things easy. I have a guy than weld aluminum. Will need to make Custom brackets for the gauge cluster but mostly plug and play.

I went with the 89/90 GSXr1100 forks & triples on my 83. Stem is exactly the same, but I had new clamps & steering stops welded on. My bike sits just slightly lower in the front than before the swap. It's a small, but noticeable difference

RF900 lower tree is plug and play. I had a friend machine 2 simple swing arm bushings. Takes a LOT of weight off. Chain guard is a bit difficult, they weren't expecting dual shocks.

Did you have to make a adapter for the bandit top clamp to work the rf900 lower clamp and stem? I?m reading that people need to make some little piece for it to work. measuring the rf900 stem compared to stock GS it seems like like the rf is like 1/2? too short. looks like the lock ring will barely catch a thread or two on the rf stem when in the gs frame.

That is Rob Wilton. He is a member here. He was having some serious health issues a while back, I don't know if he is well and making parts again.

I will see if I have any pictures. I did use a hardware store bronze bushing to fill the gap between the stem and the Bandit top tree but I don't recall anything else.

Thanks for the help. and I was trying to figure out if Suzuki-katana. Com still made parts. someone told me they bought a conversion kit 6 months ago and he had a bunch of parts ready to go.

I probably forgot that but as you mention it I'm saddened again by the loss of one of my fav GSRs members. Man did he build some awesome Bikes !!

I have been reading about front end conversion for last few hours. This is the set I am looking for: upside down fork and classic handlebar. Does anyone have an idea what the forks and tripple clamps come off? Is it gsxr1100k and drilles/custom top clamp?
