I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Returning Visitors
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

oK, Well I tried to do the ground thing and it still aint working, hell it aint even clicking anymore.. I did notice that when I turned the key on NONE of the lights on the dashboard would light up, Only if I put the turn signal switch on then the neutral light and the oil light would come on.. But still wouldnt do anything. It is a new starter and solenoid along with a battery. The starter I took to a shop and they rebuilt it for me.. So any other ideas would be great.. If I cant seem to get anywhere soon with this bike then Im sorry I have to depart from it..

If you have no insturment lighting ... check your fuses. I lost my headlight and instrument backlights and after I went through all the trouble of tracing wires it turned out to just be a bummed fuse *I was kicking myself for that one*
Not sure if you can run a direct power to the starter while it is in the bike but if there is something with the wiring from the switch to the clutch cancel it should atleast spin it up even in the bike...

I'd also suggest going through the fuse bank. Also, squirt the starter button with some penetrating oil. It could just be that the starter button contacts have corroded a bit and aren't getting a good contact.

all the fuses are good. checked each one with a tested along with the fuses. the bike is getting power but the dam thing wont click anymore or try to turn over or anything.

when you replaced the battery, did you make sure to charge it before using it? I think not charging it properly can lead to decreased performance...
electrical isnt really my thing, but good luck!
maybe one of the more technical savvy people near him can lend a hand? I would hate to see him lose out on that bike...

This guy is exactly right.I bought a new battery,put it in my bike.The trickle charger said it was ready to go so i never did the 14 hour slow charge on it.My battery failed soon after and i had to get another one.This time i charged it 14 hours even though the charger said it was hot.No more problems after that.Ron b

When you turn the key to the on position do you get any of the idiot lights?
When you hit the starter switch doesthe lights dim and the click happen?
It sounds like either a bad earthing problem or a flat battery (yes I know that it's a new one!)
Have you cleaned all the connector's and cable joints?
Do also remember that the bike's been sat for a little while now so will need a little bit of TLC.

hey man,
got your pm, so you know the engine's not frozen as you can turn in by wrench. Have you tried starting it with a jump from a non-running car battery? I've had sucess with that occasionally just to get it turning? it sounds like your battery may not have quite the juice it reads on the voltmeter, can you get it to a checker or somewhere that can check the load on the battery, cranking amps and all that?
aside from that, since you were just messing with the starter, you know it's possible that something didn't line up right. I'd say pull the starter entirely, check it out thuroughly, then maybe clamp it in the vice and power it up, see if it even cranks? you said it was just rebuilt, no? maybe they didn't get it quite right. Heck, sometimes just reinstalling it might make the difference even if you can't see an obvious mistake?
