A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I like that. The windshield is a bit tall for what I want, but I like the overall shape.

Does she have her MC endorsement?????? :D

Like the Emgo / Viper fairing? I had one for a little while but couldn't stand it. They are inexpensive for a reason......

Check out some of the quarter fairings at Airtech - I ended up putting an 83 Katana fairing on my GR and like it.

That fairing is exactly the design I'd like to have but I understand they are cheaply built and break easily. You think there's any way to beef it up with fiberglass on the inside surfaces? Just a thought.

You could use it as a mold but they are floppy and don't even hold their shape at all.

Really ****e.

Well, that's certainly an idea. Although, it won't solve the windshield flimsiness. Hmm.....

Ahhhh..... maybe there's hope. Might have to see if I can make a fiberglass version....

From what I've read online about the emgo fairings is that they're made like a red plastic cup. You're much better off getting something from Airtech like posted above ^^

Here is my acewell mount. I drilled a hole in the triple clamp and bent and taped the acewell bracket. Fits real tight and at a great angle.

Sorry for lack of pic's but Photobucket just won't cooperate for me at the moment.

I have an Acewell gauge mounted on a custom dash I made to house the stock gear position indicator and a single LED charging monitor. The bracket for the dash is copied from the stock gauges and mounts in the stock location.

I also made a fly screen using a piece of acrylic perspex I picked up from eBay and heated up to curve to shape. I made a couple of aluminium brackets to use the headlight bolts to mount it. For such a small screen it deflects an awful lot of the buffeting off me.

Yeah, right after the previous posts, I recalled one on their site and quickly found it, AJSM4.

I was able to get some links...

Front view shows the fly screen I made also:

All very good ideas. I was thinking of using a spare gauge set I had from my 65082 Maxim, till I remembered it only has an 85 mph speedo.

The 85mph gauge is not a bad thing Here in New York State I got pulled over 5th gear WFO on my 80 1100e and the only ticket was a over 85 in a 65mph Zone

what did you do with you gauges...i delete the big light center thing out of mine and made my own smaller one...but im getting tired of this look...

anyone have a center mounted speedo? or anything neat

I've still got a TON of work still to do, these are mostly mock up and fitting/fabrication pics. On hold, having another spinal fusion surg. on 14th.

I decided to go with a Maier, and the stock gauge set-up. It fit's nicely, like they were meant for each other.

I machined down a stock '82 top triple, leaving the ign., part of bar mounts, and gauge mounts, to attach to the GSXR top triple. Steering lock is at the right angle and location, and is FULLY functional.

Whatcha think??:-\\\

If you're looking for a way to tidy up the dials on your bike you might want to check out this guy over at the New Bonneville forum. He makes the most beautiful stuff out of CNC aluminium to suit Triumphs and I would imagine that some of what he does would suit a GS. Here is a link to his section of the New Bonneville forum: http://www.newbonnevilleriders.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=21

His work is seriously amazing.

some interesting ideas going on guys...

really want to change my front set up.. up...
especially now that my speedo is playing up, and the needle is getting stuck a lot.

Nah not for me, Pete. I have only a speedo but have a tacho kit on the way - I quite like the stock speedo/tacho dash on the Bonnies.

Cool, haven't seen the instruments close up on new Bonnies yet... but my eyes have been taken by the few Scramblers I've seen in the metal... those pipes... and especially the one I saw that had the Arrow 2 into 1... oh yeah!
