A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

HF what do ya think?

Tools

In another lifetime I went to MMI and had the full complement of Snap-On tools because you could get them at a "discount" for being a student. I ran into an old classmate from MMI last week and he apparently is still wrenching but switched to cars and got certified. He told me last year he went to buy a home was was $5000 short on the down payment and he sold his Snap-On hand tools (except specialty & boxes) and raised just short of $8500. He said he replaced every one tool for tool every piece he sold with HF & Craftsman. Spent $630 on HF and $150 at Sears. Says he is quite pleased with HF and although he does break some periodically the exchange process is actually easier.

Are their compressors any good?

We were looking for a new compressor for our shop here at work. Went down to the HF and looked at what they had, tanks looked fine, the compressor itself was crap. We bought a Sears Craftsman instead. The last one we had went for 16 years before the piston ring and sleeves gave out. It could have been fixed though the boss wanted new. We got new lol.

I've been looking at the 60 gallon 2 stage compressor.

There is a coupon now for $749.

It's gotten great reviews and I looked over alot of different forums and it seems to be well received from those that actually have and use the unit.

tank, motor, assembly= USA

Pump= Italy.

I really need a new compressor, and have been strongly considering this one.

It's only rated 3 and half stars, but I bought this 2.5HP 21 gallon compressor there about 4 years ago and it still is rocking fine. It won't go much above 110 PSI and is LOUD and runs constantly if you are grinding or polishing something but what can you expect for $180?

Also not a pro otherwise I would buy pro stuff.

I do buy tools from HF here and there, and like most people say, some of their stuff is good, some is junk.
