All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi All, Shaun in Ottawa

SailEXIT

Forum Apprentice
It is getting nearer to winter up here.
However, today is beautiful.

Over the last couple of years I have been putting the shine on and doing the long overdue maintenance.
Thanks for all the great information and good folks here at GS Resources.

Stuff I have done so far:
Fork seals and new Progressive springs,
Fork tubes polished on the "Wheel of Love",
Front break calliper rebuild and SS lines,
Tach replacement, used from ebay,
Valves shims checked, all good,
Re-torqued head, needed,
Replaced intake boots and o-rings,
New AGM battery and bought a CTEK smart charger, awesome,
Replaced seat cover, sewed it myself, and adjusted the foam to suit my rear-end,
Made a colour wiring diagram and shared it with you all,
Changed the oil and filter, needed,
Repaired broken wire to the rear left flasher, broken at the triple tree,

Oh, I painted it too, previous colour was black and burgundy, the clear coat was really bad,
Chose colours for Canada.

Still lots to do.
More polishing for sure.

Have a great day,

Shaun

That's awesome Shaun. I saw your bike when I was in Ottawa in July, I posted a picture of it parked in front of the CTV office down town Ottawa in the GS spotted thread. Too funny. The bike is looking real good.

That is too cool ARZ.
I work at CTV.
I did not expect to have the bike spotted like that.

There was a guy visiting from Texas that was hugging my bike one night this summer.
I went out and started it up for him.
He was over the moon.

I will have it out tomorrow for sure Dave.
Ask Security to give me a call.
I work the evening shift.

Have a great day.
Shaun

It was a real treat for me as well Shaun to run across her on my trip. I could tell the bike had an enthusiastic owner that appreciated her. If I'm ever there again and see the bike out front I'll definitely knock on the door.

Doubt I'll be in the Market tomorrow but I'll keep an eye peeled while I'm there.

On a related topic, what happened to the Pizza Hut that was at your location? Mmmm.... pizza. :love-struck:

The Vintage Motorcycle gang meets for breakfast 8:AM on Sunday mornings at Local Heroes on Merivale. We would love to see you there sometime with your ride. The weather has not been good the past few weeks so only a few bikes showed up but there are usually about 20 bikes of all kinds. My 850 was parked in the same spot a few years ago when CTV was doing a spot on the Vintage club prior to a rally in Oxford Mills. Nice looking ride.

Thanks All for the kind words.
It is nice to hear these things from the folks in the know.

Today was a great ride.
Tomorrow too????

Local Heroes is close too home.
So if the weather is good I hope the food is too.

Have a great day.
Shaun

My friend Rick attends these on his '71 BSA Thunderbolt. Speaks highly of the group. :encouragement:
