If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

hi, my mum has a GS850 trike, unfortunately the person who had it previously has hacked the wiring loom so much you can use the indicators without the ignition being on, the headlight is underpowered and has no side light, had the wrong battery and has a JCb ignition
the problem is i cannot find a gs850 loom although i have found a gs650 and gs1000 loom, my question is will either of them looms do the trick or does it have to be the gs850?
thanks very much
MM

There is variation from year to year within the same model, so I'd be surprised if the 650 and 1000 would be a good fit. Especially the 650. It seems that would be a few inches short everywhere, since it's all around smaller. I happen to have one from an '83 850 GL parts bike. At least one of the connectors over the head suffered some heat warping and needs to be replaced. If you're not matching years, you will probably have to splice in some new connectors anyhow. The rest is dirty but intact. PM if interested.

Any chance you can post some pictures of that 850 trike? I've never seen one.

From his wordings, I think he is in UK, so he will need a UK spec wiring loom not U.S.

thanks for the kind welcome people and the help so far, yes, i am fom the UK and it is a 1979 GS850
will get photos up asap.
thanks again
MM

Quite possibly the best answer is for you to make up your own loom, or repair the one you,ve got, as a stock loom is still going to need hacking on a custom trike. Also, the bike is probably due for a complete electrical check, cleaning all the connectors everywhere, especialy the grounds.

My advice would be to make a ground from the R/R to the battery negateve terminal as it is vital for a healthy charging system to have a good connection here.

Get the correct wiring diagram (not USA, unless you want the headlight permanently on) and check everything thoroughly, cleaning and repairing as you go.

If you have to add or replace wires, the smart thing to do is use the correct colour coding if you can.

Looking forward to the pictures. What part of the UK are you from?

Hi Mr. midian-man,

Nice, looks comfortable, steady, hard-working, fun, reliable....and the trike isn't bad either. :D

That's an 850L model that's been triked. I like the color and the simplicity of the machine.
