DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I hooked up a horn relay system to pass inspection and it sounds sick and now my starter button quit working. The bike would not start at all till I took the the inline fuse out of the holder for the horn. My push start is still not working but the bike runs fine.Could this be coincidental. Do you think maybe my contacts are dirty in the push starter? The bike will start by jumping the soliniod with a screwdriver. Please help if have any ideas!!

How did you wire in the Relay?

Quite possibly your contacts are dirty..
Simple way to see, is to check the voltage @ the relay when depressing the starter button.

If voltage is present it's your starter relay (on my 1100 its a small yellow/green wire with a dark green stripe sodlered to the relay)

If it's not, then it could be your button corroded, or blown fuse...

Good Luck,

horn relay and push start

horn relay and push start

I ran an inline fused wire from the battery to the horn relay button and then from the button to the horn. Then grounded the other connection on the horn to the bike itself. After that my push start wouldnt work thats why Im wondering if the push start thing was is just coincidental. My bike is at the shop getting a new front tire. They didnt have the right size so it had to be ordered.I have an 83gs650L.The fuses are all fine!

I dont know what happend but all is well. The bike shop where im having my tire fixed got the horn and starter working for 115bucks which I thought was cheap.I will by a manual for it so I will know what Im doing next time.Which manual would cover the 83gs650L. On ebay there is 2 manuls to choose from
