A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

5 months and I've yet to replace my GS brake hose. Oh well....
Most vendor sites are crappy but https://ca.helperformance.com/custom-brake-hose
Is nice. I did a lookup for fitment on alpha sports using the seal and union bolt specs as a guide to give me this:

LENGTH - 100cm

SPECIFICATIONS

  • COLOURBLACK

  • FITTING ONEBANJO - M10 / 3/8"
  • FITTING ONE ANGLE20?
  • FITTING TWOFIXED MALE - M10 X 1.00
  • FITTING TWO ANGLE
  • SUPPORT ONERUBBER GROMMET
  • SUPPORT TWO
  • HEATSHRINKYES
  • LENGTH100cm

Can anyone help confirm? 83 gs 550
I was pretty shocked by the 7ish cm the old hose stretched whilst I attempted to straighten it. to measure length.
its far more shocking than the perception of firmness when gripping it and applying pressure
Isn't that 7%?

That looks like a bill of materials for making brake lines. Very little can be learned from it.

Its a list made from entering the presumed fittings and measured length with a few variables such as colour and heat shrink tubing.

Some of the items are not applicable so no description shows up.

Basically I have measured the old assembly at 100 cms.
The union bolt ( Banjo bolt ) is 10x1.00x24 as per the parts fiche number so the corresponding banjo fitting must be 10mm and its certainly at 20 degrees.
The caliper has this bit attached.

the bottom hose end has a straight fitting so I checked the size by threading in the union bolt so the treads match and are m10x1.00.

I am confused by the m10 3/8 spec on the aftermarket website not sure if that's a fit.

Aren't you near Apex? Lots of people seem happy with his work and he has most of the GS stuff in his database.... :)
