Hello!

is it possible to fit a GSXR 145 hp engine in a GS 750 frame?
What are the differnces between the 1984 EF engine mounts
and the GSXR 1100 up to 1990 model?

Are there some of the GSXR 1100 engines that have
the same mouts as the 1984-85 1100 EF engines?

Not sure, the slabside gixxer engines may possibly have a shorter gearbox section. The 89-93 Katana GSX1100F engine is a GREAT candidate, a more streetable super torquey oil/air cooled engine that will deliver 140-145hp with rejetted carbs, k&n's & a good 4-1. Much more power at non-police attracting RPM's than the same engine in the slabside gsxr tune (very peakey high high rpm power).

I know where there is one of these for sale in Ohio, bike wouldn't sell as a runner so they parted it out. The oil coolers on these are massive though, and your frame would very much benefit from the 3 or 4 most critical "OSS bracing" techniques outlined on oldskoolsuzuki.info

It was a little hypothetical question in the first hand,
But also to have the information for later options and consideration.

I want as far as possible retain a classic/retro look on the outside of the bike and I know the 80-83 1100 GSX engines
will fit with no or little modifications.

From what i have seen on different pictures the mounts on these engines look very similar to the
ones used on the 84-85 1100ef engines and could also be a great candidate for road use.

I thought maybe the later GSXR first gen engines was based on the previous EF engines and
if so it could be fitted almost as easy but I?m not sure.
Any idea when it comes to compare mounts on these engines?

I could get you an approximate measurement between the front and rear mounts in a few weeks, as I'll be pulling the front rotors off of that gsx1100f katana soon. I was considering dropping that engine into my Rickman frame, but holy smokes, that's some MONSTROUS power... I can make a mostly stock 77-79 gs750 go like a rocket, one of those engines tuned well will still make that classic one of the fastest bikes on the road.

The oil cooling system on those engines is quite advanced, works well. Very high volume oil pump directs half the oil thru the cooler without starving anything of oil supply. Very good oil spray setup imternally. The katana version is one of the most ultimate air coold Suzuki street engines, and can be tuned into a monster of a race engine. Torque torque torque.... LARGE oil cooler as big or bigger than many water cooled 4 cylinder bike radiators though.
