    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

how do I tell is my jets are stock?

Looks like I'm still learning lots of stuff about my bike.
I've managed to remove my carbs for the cleaning but I'm curious if my jets are original/stock or not. What do I look for or measure.

Why be suspicious??? Well, PO did install a V&H street pipe on my bike but I'm not sure if that requires rejetting, though I think it might.
Anyhow, I had to remove the street pipe b/c the header was rusted out. It's been replaced with a V&H sidewinder head and pipe now.

Any suggestions about how to proceed would be appreciated.

There should be a very small number stamped on both jets, your stock main jet is a # 107.5 the pilot is a #45

These are stock jet sizes for an 82 1100ez, if you have something different than it has obviously been rejetted..

Sorry I don't have a picture I can toss your way, but jwhelen has it right, look for the small numbers on the main jet, which is sitting at the bottom of the carb, and readily visible when you remove the float bowl.

I don't have exact specs for your particular bike, but the '81 US version 1100E had 107.5 mains and the Canadian version '83 1100E had 112.5s. The Canadian bikes were known for being just a little richer (actually more properly jetted) than the US bikes, so I would guess that your bike's stock jets would be 107.5 or 110.

However, with your pipe on there, you should be two or three sizes larger than that. If you also have pod air filters, add another three to five sizes.

The stock jet sizes were the one thing I wasn't sure and didn't see in the fiches I looked in. What fiche did you find the stock settings in for him?

I have an 82 1100EZ shop manual it lists the main at 107.5
 
Jet sizes should be in the manual you can download from BassCliff's site.At least if it's a Suzuki manual.The one I have has that information in it.
 
Duh :oops: sorry...where's the head slapping smilie at? For some reason I was thinking they were listed on the fiches as well.

Especially after leaving the bike outside without a cover (tank, seat, and side covers are off of it) and now snow is all over it. Unfortunately the old cover is all torn up from the wind and my tarps aren't in any better condition. Hopefully nothing will be ruined. Engine is covered up by trash bags though.
