A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1428 and a sweet head

I get to 155 in 1320 feet. easily clipping 126 in the 8th and almost a 30 mph increase out the back door. no power adders just natural aspiration.

that was last year I have done a few tricks to my transmission to go faster and quicker for this year.

Most of the standard GSTHOU'S I have owned have topped out round the 135 mark, but have owned a few faster ones ie,one with a V&M tuned gsxr1100 motor fitted now that was very fast had to gear it up to stop it going airboure in every gear,I ran it with my mates fireblade he was pulling around the 160 mark and the GS was up his cuff happy days'.Back in 83 I had a ex race winning GSX1100ET it was supposed to be a standard proddie bike but it could run off the clock at will.

My fastest speed in the 1/4 is 182 and change on a legal pro street GS

nice run:
162 in the 1/4 and 135 in the 1/8 on the same run

I'd like to know more about your bike and read the ticket:

the fastest i could get my 82 gs1100ez was 85 then the clutch started to slip because the tach keep going weired:-\\\

My wee beastie is fast enough for me to lose my license .

Cheers , Simon .

Pushed the 700 to 115 on a down hill feeder road today..I know whoopie right? about as fast as I care to go on skinny rubber..

140 indicated at 7,500 in fourth gear. Red-line of 10,500.
That was enough of that for me. :o
Only got two tires and if one went boom...

The guy I bought my 1986 GS550ES from said it maxed out at 114 on his GPS. Right now it goes as fast as I can push it around the garage. I'll post back this fall after it goes 114 again. Wait - I'm 25 lbs bigger. We'll see.

Try a 14 tooth counter sprocket, that will wake it up. I'm running a 14T on my 78 GS550 and she run over 115 riding 2 up.

1977 GS 750B. My friend has a 83 or so honda 750. We got in a little "conversation" about suzuki and honda. Long story short I had him Beat by maby 5 mph lol. My speedo was reading about 125.

750b

The first road test by Cycle magazine in 1977 (I still have a copy) printed a top speed of 133mph as indicated on the speedometer. That impressed the hell out of me. I bought one that spring. My friend (wingman) had a '75 Z1. He rode the GS right after I got it and when he got off of it, he said that it was far superior to the Kawasaki. He was right. I recall witnessing that Z1 getting into a high speed wobble when the GS managed the 100+ mph speed as if it were doing 50.

82 850g,160k on frame and wiring, full vetter package(fairing with stereo, bags, luggage trunk )pegs the speedo in third every time

I did about 90 on my 1980 GS450 one night in the HOV lane. This was according to my GPS. It had more but I slowed down before I attracted any bears

100 mph easy with plenty of room left on the tach.... that's when I run out of room on the road though....jersey's pretty crowded

148mph on the back straight at Mosport GS1000S with Yosh motor.. that's a long uphill straight.....hell of a ride!

140km 5th gear at 7000 ish felt a little something in the forks I will be checking this out. Im sure I will hit that 200km mark this summer
