Homemade Mini bikes in 9/th grade, and homemade go kart frames.
1972 Honda SL350
1973 Suzuki GT750, with 74 internals and serious suspension(for it's day)
1976 RE-5 weird sound, fun to ride, VERY different
1978? GS550 great bike, toured all over the Appalachians on it.
Big gap in time.......until the 1980 GS1000S showed up
I've had it over 15 years now. Great motor, great frame, serious suspension and updates done.I'll NEVER sell this bike.
This past May found a 1982 GS1100E with low miles.
Great motor, suspension needed work, it's been done.
Fun bike, at least the motor is fun.
It'll be for sale in the spring

to finance the restore of the S
Of my favorites..The S is my favorite.
Different than most others. Not a lot of them around, so it's different in that respect. Plus it's the one I've owned the longest and it just fits.
It's a Zen thing, we think and we do it.
The GT750 isn't far behind. After doing the suspension upgrades, front end and rear end. Getting good Dunlops, this was back in 74-76, tires have come a long way, it handled great.
Took my first "long" trip of 425 miles one way to New Brunswick Canada
on that bike. Loved every minute. Did about 1500 miles in a week.
The RE-5 never ridden anything like it since. Weird that the motor just kept spinning, power felt linear, decent brakes and the frame was good for the time. This was one of the first GS frames Suzuki built.
Just to expensive to run and....the tranny smoked one day while......
ok ok I was drag racing it. Missed 2/nd gear, shered about 6 teeth off the gear, hit 3/rd lit the tire and kept going
But the S will never leave me, or me leave it.
