DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How rare is my 1976 GS750?

  • Thread starter Thread starter splazoid
  • Start date Start date
But they mostly didn't. If you knew the bikes you'd know this.

If you knew Wisconsin like I do, you would be aware that all bikes sold before October 1st 1980 we titled based on registration date (year) and not manufacture year.

Whatever, this thread isn't helping me achieve my goals, so I'm exiting.

Stage left.

And quickly even.

this is simple.
your information is wrong...period.
you have the wrong handlebars and i have owned many pre-80 GS750's with wire rim and single disc up front.
and what about this so called "special wrench" to choke the bike to warm it up for the day?
i mean you sound so misinformed i feel sorry for you.
i do apologize for the moron comment's but man...come on.
i have lived GS suzuki's for 2/3's of my life...
me and the other's are stating facts.
that's all.........................

The single disc spoke wheel flat bench seat non E GS750 was produced through the 1979 model year. Mine is a '79, produced in '78. I don't know numbers but I think all 750 variants sold in fairly high numbers and in any event not 'collectible' though I'll 'collect' any that people give me :D.

Um, all that site suggests is that the GS750 was offered to the public in late 1976. It does not suggest that the bikes so offered were titled as 1976 machines.
From http://www.suzukicycles.org,
"Officially 1977 was the first model year for the GS750. I only presented the '76 GS750 because of the lack of the right side front disc."
The Suzuki VIN reference documents also indicate that 1977 was the first model year.

The date of manufacture doesn't necessarily coincide with the model year.
Its also fairly common for manufacturers to begin selling a vehicle before the beginning of the year.

So its a 1977 model manufactured in 1976 & first titled in 1976.
Nothing unusual about that.

When using SuzukiCycles as a reference, I think it's important to recognize that the site is pretty much Euro-Centric, and the US variants are frequently not included. Spoke-wheeled 750B's, and 'C's never had twin front discs in the US.

The GS 750 was released for the public market in 1977...period. The month / year that is stamped on the sticker is there because BY THE LAWS it was required that the month and year of manufacture was to be placed there.

How would someone expect Suzuki to have their projected release numbers built in time for thier 1977 release one might ask. Simple..they STARTED BUILDING THEM in mid 1976 so as to amass the shipping stock necessary for the models maiden launch.

My bike was stamped August 1976 but that doesnt make it a 76..it makes it an early production bike for STOCK PILING for release in 1977..nothing more and nothing less.

Bike sold for $1831. Decent money for that bike I'd say. Just hope the buyer isn't foolish enough to think the bike is some special pre production unit like described in the ad. Hopefully the buyer will happen along and read this thread.

Sounds about right. I'm glad the scammer didn't take someone for thousands more than it's worth.

On a completely different note

On a completely different note

I have an old Fender Amp that's stamped with the serial number A11111. That's a lot of steak sauce, but doesn't add to the value unfortunately.

As rusty as that example is, I was shocked to see it go for more than $1,100 myself.
