A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

No, I just fixed the lock washer... I didn't think loctite would hold up too well in that environment?

I think they use red on the rotor but I whacked some blue on the bolt just to help as well as torqueing it up nice and tight...

Oh well... might be doing it all over again soon :o

Hopefully not! I didn't put it on mine either as I only have blue... I phrased that post really badly... apparently *some people* put red on them but it's not necessary and isn't done out of the factory...

Oh ok well the lock washer was completely flat, so I gave it some springy shape back and tightened with authority. Figured locktite would be a waste of time with the heat from the engine down there? Guess we'll see... it'll be the first thing I check if I ever have those symptoms again.

Cool, I had to replace the bolt and lock washer so fingers crossed mine stays in where it should...

Some doodling...

Sharpie haha. I just wanted something to fill the big empty space since I haven't been able to work on the other tank...

Based off a local artist named Walter anderson's block style print:
SLU_WalterAnderson_goose.jpg

One of my favorite artists. May try to work this style into the actual paint job.

Mate that looks great, and incorporating that into your paint job would be wicked indeed :D

I'm sure what you have in mind will be better. But I have to say I really like the metal tank with the artwork... very edgy. Very rebellious and grungy. Keep up the great work.

I ultimately want a more structural and taller sissy-bar/luggage rack combo on my 79 850. Probably will go just a bit shorter than what you have.

It's just temporary while I'm getting the other tank finished up... I was just tired of looking at plain bare metal and I kinda wanted to try out a block style print to see what it would look like?

Wow, how did I let this get pushed back 3 pages!? haha

I've been really busy lately with work, but I've also been doing a lot of selling, swapping, buying... My '52 chevy has a new home now and I found this '74 xlh for CHEAP at a swap meet this weekend...

But don't worry, I've got a lot I want to get done on my hoard of suzuki's before I start working on this old american machine.
