DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Title pretty much says it all. Anytime I search Minkuni BS32SS, and correct me if I am wrong they are what belongs on a 1982 GS650GL, I get pictures of carburators that look nothing like mine. Of course I have pictures, and if anyone who wishes to help Identify them needs any pictures or measurements I will happily take them.

Known info, 40 pilot jet, 110 Mains, 36 Air jets, and two jets which I do not know what they do a 50 and a 205 both under the diaphragm of the slide.

According to the Suzuki GS Carburetor Stock Specifications V1.4 the '82-'83 650GL has BS32SS Carburetors. Main jet 110, pilot jet 42.5.

And thank you gatekeeper, I couldn't figure out how to do that.

It appears to be similar to the main jet, except they are listed as 42.5. The pilot jets for the VM carburetor series are about 1/2 in tall and have a slightly smaller thread, so there is no way to really confuse them.

Ok, thank you for clearing up my confusion, off to order jets then

Those are definitely not the stock carbs, They kind of look like Kiehins

I agree, those are NOT the stock carbs.

I have an '82 650L sitting about 15 feet from me if you need some pictures of carbs.

Those are not GS carbs, they are off an early 80s Yamaha Maxim XJ (550 or 650)

Thank you guys, I still didn't quite believe it. At least I have something to search for.

Were those actually bolted up on your bike or did you buy a "box" project bike? Can't believe the spacing would be exactly the same!

The carbs should have an identifying number on them somewhere. You can then reference them.

They fit quite well actually, I bought the bike from my future father in law and he purchased it 6 years ago in good running condition. He only ever changed the oil in the bike once and put less than 50 miles on it.

Any ideas where I should look for the number? I only see 3 and 2 on the bowls near the drain screws and C3 on cyl 1&2 and C4 on Cyl 3&4 near the gang plate on the engine side, and cylinder 1 and 4 are marked.
