A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Finally, after more than a year of searching :(, and going through at least 14 maybe more unserviceable 1st Generation Turn Signal Control units , I got one today that was fully functional for my '79 GS1000E! :D:D:D:D
I am so happy :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing:, I still don't believe it.
I mean I looked high and low, in salvage yards, etc. but
"I found it on E-bay"! Here's a tribute to E-bay!

Here's the part, candidate number 15, sold as a 79 GS1000L S141 igniter I got from Mistermonkeyclaw. He even says this ignitor has been tested! Imagine that. What do I care? all I know is that my self cancelling turn signals work, finally.

Steve, after you e-mailed a link to the auction and after it ended I wondered if it was you that bought it. after all that looking, I'm glad to see you finally found a good one!

If it was mine I would check the circuit board solder connections, just for piece of mind

Lynn, the circuit board on the TSCU Steve bought is mostly potted with epoxy. nigh on impossible to check.

I must admit, by looking at this particular unit, it didn't look as good as some of the others I've had that were total duds. As they say, "looks ain't performance." But I had a good feeling about it, and there hasn't been many coming up on the auctions, so I consider myself lucky.
I just hope it lasts longer than the one I sent to Chuck. I will continue to scout for others out there in hopes of getting a spare. I just hope I don't have to go through another 15 to get another good one.

Dang nice score, Steve!
Dontcha love it when things go your way?

I'm happy for ya!
