A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I might be a motorcycle collector

I already have a 1980 GS1000L that is in outstanding shape. Well a couple of weeks ago I decided to ride a bike to work on nice days to save some gas. Noytwanting to put a lot of miles on my GS I went looking on Ebay for a 400 to 450 bike. I found a very nice 10.000 mile Yamaha Xs400 Special. I won the auction and am now the owner of that 400 Yamy. The bike is in outstanding shape and should give me many miles of commuting pleasure. I will take some pics and post them later.

Congrats!
Those were/are pretty rock solid machines. I'm trying to think what I saw go wrong with them and the only thing I can think of was carb cleanings.
Good luck with it.

maybe not a collector...........I've had at least 2 bikes for the last 4-5 yaers now.
As my wife says "We need a backup bike" just in case one breaks down.:-D

What a great idea huh?

Plus it's great having 2 different machines to ride!

You aren't sick yet until you ask yourself, "what's next?"

Not yet, you're just getting a taste of the affliction. You know you've got it bad when you start asking relatives and friends if you can store bikes/projects/rollers/spare engines/boxes of parts etc. in their garages/sheds/storerooms/livingrooms  Because your place is already full. BTW when you reach this stage you'll NEVER be invited over for any reason.

I think Im getting there too. I have three bikes (a 550, a 750, and a hondamatic 450) and none of them are on the road. The 750 and 450 both run, but neither have a title. The 550 has a title, but needs the most work out of all of them.

dlancer, I read the title of your post and got a chuckle, a sort of confessional type statement;-) . No worries, I've read here on more than one occasion that two bikes (or more) is a good thing. Never without wheels I believe is the premise! I've got two myself, but of course I have it all wrong. One has been in storage for about 7 years the other is on the list of things to get to....it's ok, I may be looking at a runner this w/e!

Nateo, can't you get the titile situation resolved? Does a bike need to be banished to private property for life because someone can't file a document properly?

oh, Im working on it. Im gonna head over to the RMV to find out who is on the title right now, then go talk to him to se if he did indeed sell it, or if it was ripped from him, and get a title through him.

Give ma a couple of weeks and I will be turning out at the end of my street instead of around!8-[

Wow!!! She's got a great attitude. All women should take lessons from her!

It's an addiction!! When I started on this forum in 2004, all I had is my 1150. My signature is growing all the time!

My wife thinks I'm doing HER a favor every time I clean out the garage. What I'm really doing is making room for more bikes!\\:D/

Bruce,

Based on your sig I'm thinking you have some sort of compulsive dissorder. Seeing that you are a GSR member in good standing I think I can help you. I would gladly take one or two of those extra bikes off your hands enabling you to beat this thing once and for all. Just have someone lock you in a secure room with a phone and call the MC shipper. I'll email you my shipping address.

I know, I know, this is very tough for you, but I have a lot of confidence in you and I know you can do this.:-D

(Tell the driver I'll be out waiting out front.)\\:D/
