Problem solved. The new seal and o-ring are in. We reshaped and reused the c-clip.
Just a dab of JB on each end of the clip to ensure it wont come out. I am not worried about a little bit of clean up grinding on a rebuild at this point. That whole area is completely chewed up already by the darn screw that came out so it's all good.
I wish I could have video taped him taking the old seal out and putting the new one in. The entire job including opening it up and putting it all back together took less than 15 minutes. He poped that bad boy in there with a n iron dowl rod and a mallet. Tap tap tap. 2 minutes at best. Most of the time was spent by me futzing around buttoning back up the chain and stuff.
Took it for a nice hard test run after leaving Paparo's on my way over to buy the man diner because he didn't charge me a cent for the repair or even the part! 8O
No leaks. It is fixed
My old goat can now hold his own bladder again
Joe Paparo rocks.
