A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

If they made these crooks do time in jail instead of just a slap on the wrist ? Just had a group of MC thieves busted here =D> =D> =D> They took the wrong bike, A Kaw with LOJACK

Zach, just got home yesterday and just now saw this today.

This sucks. Probably some jerk with a truck that came by and picked it up. I'll keep an eye out for parts or the whole bike showing up on the places I haunt.

Also check Boulder Bike Works in Longmont to make sure it doesn't show up there. (They're the closest bike salvage yard).

Think your dad will let you borrow his?

They Found it!!!!

They Found it!!!!

They said they found it parked a few blocks away, and accused me of 'forgetting where I parked' -- this definitely was not the case, but I don't care, I'm just happy to have my Suzi back! ..And from the sounds of it, it probablly hasn't been vandalized.

It does have one theft detterant feature -- it is extremely difficult to start!

I'm going to try to pick it up tonight, more later...

Wow. Glad you got your bike back.

Lucky guy. And here I was looking for my field hockey stick and getting my rugby cleats on ready for a "group search" to find the low life who doesn't appreciated anything enough to respect the property of others.

Man, you are a lucky dude.

Kudoes for the coppers, too! Way to go Boulder PD. We appreciate you watching out for one of our guys! Lotta pds could have had the thing in their lot and would have ignored it if the parking space wasn't needed. =D>

That ia absolutely fantastic. Now for a little scolding; never ever leave your bike with the front wheel unlocked. Never ever leave your bike in unfamiliar surroundings over night.
Now, with that said, Thank God you have it back. Let us know how it turns out and if its ok.

WOW! How cool is it that you got it back... good for you:smile:

Glad to hear you're getting it back. Hope it's all there and still running.

Guess if they stole it outta the garage, they got tired after a couple of blocks of pushing it!!!

Second that!

Remember one thing. Most of the scum out there doing such things are lazy. If they have to get by sometimes even the simplest deterrent they'll move on to the next EASY target.

Hoping that the damage is minimal or nonexistent!

The bastrd(s) was probably to lazy to walk down from where they had to park so thought they'ed get down the eazy way. Probably rode it as far as it would coast and left it.

I got her back! No damage, except for a $65 impound fee. It was really only a few blocks away, I checked it out on Google Maps -- they left it on Pearl Street. I bet it was just some drunk college kids, I'd wake up to all kinds of weird mayhem when I went to school there...

I don't want to give the Boulder Police too much credit, but they do know how to issue parking tickets -- I think that is the reason my bike was found! But I am very grateful to have gotten it back in one piece.

Don't worry, I'll lock the forks from now on! :-). Thanks to everyone who offered their help, I'll buy you a beer, or soda if you're out my way.

Congrats! I was hoping this story would have a happy ending!!!

whoa!! just saw this, holy crap! Glad you found it, I was about to get worried....

was the key even in it? does it look like they tried to hotwire it!?

That is awful! When I lived in Philly, I had my Blazer stolen by kids. Found it in a park filled with empty crack vials. I have been lucky and never lost a bike, yet. They steal em so fast that even if you're gone for a few minutes, they just load em into a van and they're gone. I haven't ridden in Boulder for a while, but, like you said, it seems like a relatively safe place to park.

I think craigslist.com would be a good place to search, too.
Good luck!
