If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Help, I want new handle bars, Lower and flatter. My bike does not have a normal triple tree clamp. what models would bolt up with my frame? or is there another solution for the current handle bars. would i be better to replace forks, clamp, handle bars with for example a katana.

thanks for the help

i have an '83 GS450E. there are four caps that cover allen-head bolts securing the bars to my triple tree. i just popped superbike bars on there and boy do they handle, look, and feel better than the bent crap that came with the bike. i can actually see more than my shoulders out the mirrors, as well
your bike *may* be similar?

You may be able to mount those on the underside of the tree. I would try this before searching for a new top tree. The older 550's accomodate 35mm forks. So you may be able to use a top tree from a pre 83 550, IF you have the same diameter forks. Your other option would be to get new clip ons for your diameter fork tubes. $$$$

I think clip ons would be too low. I have attached a pic of the top of the triple tree. the handle bars attach to the top of the forks and tree by the two big allan bolts. Can I just replace the top of the tree. It is a 38mm fork.

I would first try to mount your bars under the the tree and try to re use the bolt. May work may not. OR use regular clip on on top of tree like I have...$$ OR find a top tree for 38 mm fork tube , les$, and mount the bar of your choice.............I 'd like to see this change if you do it.......My top tree clip on is same hight as a drag bar.

I looked on ebay and the net there looks like there are a bunch of options. I will have to decide how low i want to go. I will post pics as soon as i decide. Now I am looking for a 1100 or 1150 to play with too. Thanks for the insight everyone.
