A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have available to me a front fork assembly for a 1986 gsxr 1100, and wonder if it will fit on my 81 gs750. I just recently purchased them so they are about two weeks out, but would like to know ahead of time if they will work, so I can continue forward with my vision. My actual model is the gs750ex. I know I am asking the right people this question because I have seen some mods that blew my mind. Please help.

Hi Mr. Ant,

I Figured It Out

Top and bottom bearing on stem are identical, so everything should go well with the change over as far as the neck on the frame is concerned,
I used bikebandit.com info on both bikes for my research.

Figured I would share my findings.

Thanks again to BassCliff for all the links and invaluable information.

Thank you BassCliff and Imnowhooked for the warm welcome.

I will post pictures soon of my 81 750ex.

I have'nt even rode it yet. Just got it about two weeks ago with charging system problem that I have been able to work through thanks to this wonderful site and its good people.

Thanks again to you both and Duaneage.

What wheels are ya planning to use ?

Let's see some pictures too :D

I am planning to use the rims off of a 2005 hyaboosa. I still need to know what swing arm will fit and if my calipers will fit to match or if I have to acquire new.

I do have the 2005 hyaboosa swing arm. Will that fit?

Here's the picture of my 750 as it is now.

It has been dropped pryer to my purchase a couple of weeks ago. Should be ready to take around the block today now that I have the stator cover bolts I ordered from Suzuki.

Went for a ride around the block

Runs pretty good. Idle is a little choppy. Guess the carbs need some cleaning. Had to adjust idle to keep it running after I push in the choke. Can't waite to start the modifications.

Glad you got her running enough to take her around the block. Wish I knew more to be able to give you some advice, I do know from experience that a good carb cleaning can do wonders. If I can do it...anyone can!! :p Good luck with your project !!

If you look here you will see the modifications required to the triple tree to attach guages, handlebars and add steering stops.

Y still need to do something about the rear swing arm to support the 150/60-18 or 160/60-18 rear tire. A stock GS1100E swing arm.

As you will see in the link I'm doing a Bandit arm.

I have a 81 GS750EX as well and it is close to the same as the 83 GS1100ED (as far as the swap)
