A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi,

Thanks for the video. Yes, they sound good. How loud are they?

Thank you for your indulgence,

Well, they made a considerable difference compared to the open pipes, which I was surprised by. I didn't think they'd serve very well at actually muffling, being that they are straight through and only 12" long.

It's loud though, but not so much that you have to raise your voice to speak around it. Sounds orgasmic at 6-9k too :D

It sounds kind of crazy, because at idle and cruising you hear the distinct "wup wup wup wup" of the engine, but when you roll on it hard, it's almost like the sound waves all get in single file line and march out of the pipes, haha. Two totally different sounds....although I know I did a terrible job of explaining it.

Looks and sounds good. Can you post a video with some higher rpms?

It appears to me that a whole lot of things are missing in that video!
How do you do it?

Ha...It's not road ready yet. I just went down to the end of the street and back, lol.

I got a literal "basket case" (lots of baskets actually) together and running late last Fall and thought that I would see if it shifted, steered, braked correctly, etc. when I got it buttoned up.
I made it less than a hundred yards, under 20 mph, and immediately turned back around and put on my gear. I did have a helmet on.
I had a very eery feeling after all of these years ATGATT... I just couldn't do it!
One "habit" that I intend to keep. ;)

Haha...yes yes, you're right. I think we all get complacent because we're "just testing it".

ATGATT?

Just checked the link and that sounts quite loud and rorty, ilike it. If in person it sounds anything like the muffler i put on my bike (link) it is going to be LOUD. I had to take these off and get one of these as they were just too obscenely loud (94db at idle and about 104db at 5k rpm!!) and there was no way the bike would pass any annual checks.

How much baffling is there in there? just the perforated tubing inside with packed glass around it? or anything more?

Yeah, it's a perforated baffle with packed glass around it. Essentially a small cherry bomb.
