A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Well, I ordered my tires and chain from iMotorcycle.com and told them not to ship it UPS as I didn't want to pay the brokerage fee which would probably cost me more than the parts.

Order date: October 3, 2006
Recieved chain: October 18, 2006 regular mail (I have no friggin' idea where the tires are)

iMotorcycle tells me they were shipped on the same day, but as chain package and tire package. So waiting on my tires still.

The chain was undervalued on the customs documents, so no extra fees.

I will update when I get my tires.

PS. I got some stick on weights from Kal tire, I just asked and theguy gave me two sticks.

Yes, its a trade-off....you will likely end up saving at least $150 on the parts compared to local prices (even with shipping), but expect to wait a minimum of 2 weeks (more if the stuff is held up for evaluation by customs, which is likely the case with yr tires)....as imotorcycle probably told you, they have no control over delivery times via regular mail, which is why they prefer to ship UPS. I received my Pirelli in 20 days of placing the order, and it was examined by Canadian customs.

Tony.

This appears to be an unhappy review of the international mail service and not iMotorcycle.com. Mail delays on a foreign shipment that followed your shipping instructions is out of their hands, and hardly their fault. I have bought from them and received both good prices, service, and fast delivery on domestic shipments.

The tires have arrived \\:D/ they are the tires I ordered, the correct sizes and all. The rear looks like it has some serious tread depth, it is an Avon am52 and the front is a 100, narrower than the 110 on the bike now, but a good looking tire and avon am51. imotorcycle undervalued the tires as well, so I paid $10 in duty/gst.

 USPS and Canada Post both suck rocks because thier service is so bad though.

I don't know what it is about the Canadian/ US border, but it is a nightmare sending anything accross it.

I know someone who bought a mp3 player from a company in Canada and the tracking of the delivery had it sitting at the border for two weeks!!

you can send stuff from here to Germany and they will have it inside a week.
