A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Oh Steve this is why I come here! I get a good chuckle when you dress down these guys. Good stuff, carry on

How hard can it be? On my bike, my wife's bike and #2 son's bike, I simply lift the seat, unbolt the battery cables, lift the battery out. On #1 son's bike, I remove the left side cover, release the rubber strap, unbolt the cables, slide the battery out. If you bought your bike for "ease of battery access", you bought the wrong bike. And, ... you do that ... what? ... once a year (or two)?

.

Have you ever tried to even see the top of the battery on an '82 or '83 1100e with stock air box?

Original poster: best of luck to you. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.

i see this as a done deal...water under the bridge.
anymore pokes at this guy will just show that your acting no different than he did in the beginning.
oh,
and on big GS's the st.3 kits make more HP than stock..FACT.
no super tuning required in most cases.
on a GS smaller than a 750 i wouldn't waste my time but that's just me.
peace and chicken grease ladies :)

Yes, I have. :p

Like I said before, if this bike was chosen for ease of access to the battery, the wrong bike was chosen. :-\\\

.

On the other hand, I will do what is necessary to MINIMIZE intake noise. :-\\\

Different strokes for different folks.

Eventually, if you are patient enough to go through all the steps necessary for re-jetting.

As I noted, it is hardly rocket science. If someone can't muster the small amount of patience required and a couple of afternoons of time to properly rejet then they should keep the stock airbox.

And how much power do you really gain? Maybe a few. Is it really noticeable on the street? :-k
Yeah, on the track, where things are measured in fractions of a second, every little bit helps, but does it get you to work any quicker? Does it help you get around the next curve any better?

A good pipe and pods are good for at least 5% more power, much more on some bikes. Whether that is worth it to you or not is your decision. I will take more power every time over less. For me it increases my enjoyment and satisfaction with my bike. As I said, different strokes for different folks.

On that we agree.

Quick Update

Finally installed the 3310 DynoJet kit in the carbs last night. Put everything back on the bike today, and boy does that thing SCREAM! It runs fantastic! I still need to fine tune the fuel mixture, but damn, It honestly has a noticeable amount of new kick to it. Thanks for the help, guys!
