    Welcome!
Register to access the full functionality of the GSResources forum. Until you register and activate your account you will not have full forum access, nor will you be able to post or reply to messages.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

This is my point, it can be done but it takes a lot of work, testing, learning, trial and error. Read the OP's post and tell me he's the one that's going to do all of this?
He'll dick with it a few hours, ride it around running like crap a few months and it will join the endless parade of parts bikes on Craigslost.

If you could go fu.ck yourself, that would be great. Mkay

Then one of us pick up another sub $500 jewel in the rough. All of my favorite classics UJM's were non running sub $500 "parts" bike.

I remember being just like this new member too Tkent. I know I was probably pretty frustrating to deal with when I was a new member... But maybe, just maybe he'll accept the religion and learn as I did.

You are correct about the top down approach when changing the jetting...I have a 750 with a set of carbs on it from a 1000. Trying to save some $$ I've played around with the needle heights, main jet sizes and have it pretty close but it does cough and choke a bit above 3/4 throttle.
My thinking is it's too rich? Need to drop the mains down a size or 2?

The dyno kits I've found get things almost bang on ...again from my experience...with K & N's oiled I've found they work well setup as per their instructions.

Dave

Did you make sure to remove the vent tubes? I had the same issue until those were removed per Dynojets recommendation

That's going to get you a lot of help! I have no doubt tkent02 is probably right in his assessment with that kind of attitude. Remember, it's you who is asking for help.

I never treated any senior member here with disrespect, even when I received comments that put my devotion to a restore into question.

Truth is Froader you can't respond to members thinking we are just out to be jerks. Truthfully we see allot of guys buy these GSs, chop em up throw exhausts and pods and can't figure a dang thing out when they don't run right. Then ultimately they end up back on CL.

You have to take comments with a grain of salt. sometime a pound but I'm with Oldvet66 saying crap like that is going deter allot of wisdom from you inquiries.
