DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hey guys,

I am rebuilding my carbs and I am wondering where a good place to order all the gaskets and o-rings from. I checked Z1 and I wasn't able to find any o-rings.

I know I could search around more and probably find them myself but I was hoping to get these ordered tonight so I could get working on my bike over Christmas break! Thanks a ton

The only gaskets you might need would be the float bowl gaskets. They usually come off cleanly enough to re-use, but if you need some, Z1 is a good place to get them.

For ALL the o-rings you will need, look at cycleorings.com. The owner of that little establishment is a member here. He will get you all the o-rings for the carbs and for the intake tubes. He also has stainless hardware to replace the cheesy stuff that you will need to remove to change the intake tube o-rings. All for less than $25.

While you are doing this, be sure to clean your carbs PROPERLY. Follow the rebuild guide found in the garage section on the home page. Get a can of Berryman's Carb Cleaner Dip and soak each of your carb bodies for a full day.

While you are waiting for your carbs to soak (yeah, it's going to take several days) is a good time to adjust your valves. Lots of good help on BassCliff's site if you have gotten your official welcome package. If you are going to do your valves, I have a spreadsheet that can help you figure out what you need. See the end of my signature for ordering information.

Hey Steve,
Thanks for the info about cycleorings.com, that seems like the place to go. And yes I have the write ups for carb cleaning and valve adjustment printed off and ready to go! I also already got your spreadsheet from you, so I should be set!

Sho' nuff, I sent it to you just last week.

Too much going on here to keep track of that stuff. :o

Is there a next best source for the float bowl gaskets? Z1 seems to be out of stock.

If you are in a hurry you can cut out your own using gasket paper from an auto parts store and an xacto knive. To punch the holes you can use either a hole punch or find a piece of tubing the proper diameter and sharpen the end and use it like a punch. Failing that, check ebay - maybe georgefix has some?

Thanks for the welcome Mr. BassCliff! That's quite the nice collection of useful information
